PLAY BUDDIES LAUNCH at Goldington Green Lower School

Energize and Goldington Green Lower school showcase the new play buddies project in school designed to help children play constructively and learn new skills at play time. A book of activities and website www.trythisnow.info have been created to help with ideas for creative play.

PRIZE GIVING at Houghton Regis Pavilion


Following their success in the recent Energize Social Enterprise Competition - HYVE (Houghton Youth Voice Experience) received their medals / trophy and cheque for £500 from the mayor at the opening ceremony for the newly refurbished Pavilion on 23rd September 2007. Energize would like to thank the following supporters for helping this project be so successful - Bedfordshire Police authority for funding to give away as sports kit to local youth / sports organisations, SEEE - part of the prize money, Beds CC Economic Regeneration department - overall funding. Angling4success casts off!!!!
5 young people from Hastingsbury, sharnbrook and John Bunyan Upper Schools took part in the very first day of fishing and photography at Tingrith Fishery... as well as a modest catch of fish, the biggest being a 1lb crucian carp some excellent quality photographs were generated as seen below:

Energize supports Beautiful Gate Project in Zambia
Rachel Smith from Southampton recently visited this project in Zambia and with money donated from Energize Sports Bags project was able to commission the erection of volleyball and football nets as well as the recquisite equipment to enjoy the activities as picture above... Thank you Rachel for introducing us to this project!

Energize were delighted to receive an invite from Simon Dyer principal of Raoul Wallenberg Skolan near Stockholm in Sweden to run a sports mentoring course for year 6 students. The course worked extremely well by virtue of the synergy between the course values and those of the school namely: Honesty, Courage, Compassion and Action. 9 young people worked together to plan and run sports activities for other young people in time honoured Energize fashion. Energize look forward to helping the school set up further courses within the curriculum for their students. Further details will follow....

APRIL 2007Energize - Supporting Arms of Love Zambia


Celebrating success Keith Williams and Mike Johnson, CCLRC Director of Technology, present each other with awards to celebrate the successful conclusion of the "Fit For the Future" transformation programme in CCLRC, the UK's research council for large science and technology facilities. The celebration was held on 21st September at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Harwell after a successful external review conducted by senior leaders of the TI/OSI and Council. All the FFTF team were invited to celebrate achieving the challenging objectives on time. Keith Williams presented Mike with the "Energize High Performing Team" award, and Mike presented Keith with the "CCLRC Brown Paper Award for Change Management".
