This exciting opportunity offers young people a chance to get up close and personal with some of nature's most impressive predators and build a relationship, based on mutual trust.
During the course, all participants are accompanied by an A4SOutdoors mentor to provide provide moral and educational support, with the aim of helping individuals to experience personal growth, to maximise the learning potential of this fantastic outdoor classroom and to capitalise on the LANTRA Beginner's Falconry qualification.
Cameras will also be provided so that students can create their own photographic portfolio of the learning experience, digitally enhance their photos and publish this on the Energize Photos website.
Practicalities: Energize provides an experienced youth worker & mentor, Mini-bus transport (where geographically possible), cameras, Lap-tops with Photoshop Elements, all-conditions clothing where required. Students need only bring a packed lunch.

FALCONRY 4 SUCCESS Course Content
Within Stages 1 & 2, The Birds of Prey Centre offers the following comprehensive service and Energize strongly supports the excellent impact that such an experience can have on young people who find classrooms difficult places to thrive:
• Learn correct handling of birds of prey
• Learn feeding habits of birds of prey and how to feed different birds
• Learn to fly a bird of prey
• Learn welfare issues surrounding owning a bird of prey
• Learn many more aspects of falconry and about other birds of prey
• Work towards a LANTRA Falconry Qualification over 10 weeks
• Compile a portfolio of photographs of his/her learning experiences
• Use Photoshop elements to achieve best results from photos
• Publish his/her collection of photos on the web
We can also offer taster sessions for the falconry course for groups of up to 5 students on a one-off basis or as part of a 6 week angling course.
The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences including: green woodwork, shelter building, outdoor cooking and working with wildlife.
By participating in engaging, motivating and achievable tasks and activities in a woodland environment each participant has an opportunity to develop intrinsic motivation, sound emotional and social skills. These, through self awareness can be developed to reach personal potential.
